It has been too long since I have contributed to this blog. For so many unbelievable reasons… Tonight I must write as I am a witness to the political reality in America and its reverberating affect here in Africa. The US, my country of birth but perhaps no longer my country of choice, has joined Syria and Nicaragua in not supporting the Paris Climate Agreement. My heart is broken. I have known my entire life that we are indeed “one human family” – that we are all connected and that we all need each other. The geopolitical boundaries are just that – geopolitical boundaries – not human family boundaries.
So who am I believing in and supporting at this moment – the current temporary administration of the US, a president who is crying for help and healing and so needing our prayers, or Patricia and our grassroots’ goodness which is happening every moment here Liberia? There is no choice.
With great gratitude for all of you who have supported our work for decades now – holding hands with love and gratitude forever,
