At 6am this morning, I had a conversation with our FFW Liberia COO David Beyan with tremendous news. After working with the World Bank and the Central Bank of Liberia forever it seems, yesterday funding to expand our microcredit portfolio was deposited into our account. Today there was a special program in recognition of this post-Ebola support and Foundation for Women Liberia was the star!! Tuesday, November 28, 2017 Santa Fe, New Mexico
I am here at the home of a dear friend and long-time supporter and board member of the Foundation for Women, Janie Davis. Really fabulous! In David’s own words: We are honored and delighted to be completing 20+ years of service to women and girls and their families via microcredit all over the globe - and to be launching our 3rd decade of service with great joy and anticipation! So much more goodness to come! And we have a special announcement and request. Barbara and Arthur Bushkin have made an extremely generous donation to Foundation for Women. $100,000 is being deposited into our account this week, the beginning of a beyond special commitment to us. Barbara and Arthur would love this first deposit to be the motivation for our community of donors and friends to match this gift. So our request on this GIVING TUESDAY is to demonstrate our gratitude to them and to indeed make every possible effort to match it. You can help! Thanksgiving is my favorite time of the year. I strive to focus on my gratitude list always. That is the reason I authored the book GRATITUDE Always a few years ago. November is, however, a special time to focus on gratitude as the year is coming to an end. Here are some of my gratitude moments: None of this would be possible without YOU - so many of you who over the last 20 years have shared your time, treasury, and talent with the Foundation for Women. Thank you! A very special thank you to Dana, Janie, George, Jennifer, Barbara, and Barbara for joining with me to lead the Foundation for Women. A tremendous thank you to Cory who keeps everything together always - cannot imagine life without Cory! To friend Aldis at MISSIONLINES who has shared so many links to help support our work: www.ONLYLOVEisbest.com and www.ONLYHOPEisbest.com and www.MakeEducationFun.com and others! To Sector 9, the Tony Hawk Foundation, Awesome Beyond Borders Foundation, and so many others for helping us bring skateboarding to Liberia! And to friend Leena Patidar who has brought COIN UP to us! Here's what COIN UP is: What if you could simply donate your spare change from everyday purchases to support the Foundation for Women (FFW)? Well now you can, there's an app for that! FFW has partnered with a revolutionary mobile donation app called COIN UP. You can make a monthly impact through COIN UP in 3 Easy Steps:
Please make this your year end gift to the Foundation for Women. With great gratitude, Deborah Lindholm Founder/CEO |
