I am in awe. As I write this blog, I am completing 15 years of the Foundation for Women’s service here in Liberia, perfecting our collective impact model, Seats at the Table for Liberia. Whoever would have thought??
I arrived in this impoverished and completely wrecked West African nation on Christmas Eve 2006. The next day I attended a Christmas party hosted by Ma Frances Mayson and her family for children who had nothing to do on that special day. There were perhaps 250 children in the family compound. Amazed by the joy, I captured much by photo. Every time I turned to take an image, there was Moses.
Our connection has been in place ever since that Christmas Day. Moses is now about to complete his junior year at Gannon University in Erie, PA – and is a star! He is President of the African Students Association, on the student government council, and so much more… all the while maintaining a 3.0 GPA. All a God-thing as Moses and I say.
These last two years have devastated the world in so many ways – “hor-ri-ble” as my dear sister Dr. Angela Benson says. Yes truly horrible. AND the light still shines, the goodness happens, the joy prevails… why FFW is in business.
Thank you for holding Moses in the light – and for all those tens of thousands, millions FFW has touched globally these last so many years… together we have made miracles happen for so many members of our global human family and will continue forever with your help and God’s grace…
With gratitude and appreciation and new year’s blessings – and much love from Liberia,
