I awoke today to find this message in my inbox from dear friend Jan Phillips who said this quote made her think of me.
It energized me even more regarding the documentary film I am producing, “Liberians for Liberia, Ebola and Beyond” – a beginning in answering this inquiry… and my life work…
And then tonight, as every Monday night when I am in San Diego, I sat in circle with my Course in Miracles women’s group. It is always a life-changing experience and joy, tonight no exception. I was acknowledged for the big work I am called to do in the world, a curiosity for me… We are one human family. Until all of us are okay, none of us are okay. I have been knowing that, saying that, working for that my entire life. Not big to me. Ebola in Liberia was the tipping point. Things must change – now.
Our soon to be released documentary trailers will give a hint of this reality and how to join hands with fellow members of our human family who you have not met yet. By the first of May, you will meet some with so many more to come after that. The first documentary release will be in whatever form August 8, 2015 – one year after the World Health Organization finally declared an international health emergency and the US State Department’s advisory for all non-essential Americans to leave West Africa. I left Liberia that night with the saddest heart of my life…
Now time for action. Our Liberian family members finally telling their stories instead of the 60 Minutes version. A first.
Thank you for believing in the Foundation for Women and me personally – with great love and gratitude as always since we started this journey together,
