Provide Funding to Madam Hannah Blackie
Madam Hannah Blackie is a widow with four children and lives in the Wroto Town community, near the Spriggs Payne Airport outside Monrovia. Her husband was killed during the Liberian civil war. After her husband’s death, she was compelled to assume the role of both husband and wife in order to take care of her family. She started to make and sell cookies in her neighborhood and in no time she was able to save some money from her sales. Then she added charcoal to her business line and her sales increased greatly. She is currently sharing a big warehouse in the Nancy B. Doe Jorkpen Town market with her friends, where she owns a stockpile of charcoal that she sells by bags. She wants to buy more charcoal bags to prepare for the rainy season sales, so she is requesting for a loan of L$20,000.00 or U$222.00 from the Foundation for Women.
