And it turns out that each one has an unusually large impact on alleviating poverty.
When FFW microloan borrowers in San Diego lift themselves out of poverty, their need for tax-supported public services decreases dramatically. And in Africa and India, as a mother generates income from a business started with a microcredit loan, she has enough money to clothe her children and send them to school.
On average, each FFW micro loan participant improves the quality of life of 5 people in her immediate family or local community.
